Mechelen, Belgium
Won Worlds’ Best Dark Beer in the 2012 World Beer Awards
Gouden Carolus Classic finds its origin in the rich tradition of Mechelen. Every Belgian city had their own city breweries and their own city beer. So the people of Mechelen drunk "den Mechelschen Bruynen". Mechelen, at that time capital of the Netherlands, had her brewer's guild and the members were on their honor to brew the best beer for the Emperor. An old chronicle of Mechelen reports that this Grand Imperial Beer, "Gouden Carolus" named after the golden coins of Emperor Charles, was mainly consumed during the foxhound "since both the riders and the horses were brought in full fire and made them gallop in order for the hunt always developed in the best atmosphere".

This "Grand Imperial Beer" is still brewed in the brewery of Mechelen called Het Anker. Dark, very balanced dosed caramel and aromatic malts provide, in combination with a traditional high fermentation, a unique beer that unites the warmth of wine and the freshness of beer. This makes it very suitable in combination with culinary specialties such as stews, wild, pates and even sabayon.
About the Brewery
Het Anker brewery enjoys world fame for its 'Gouden Carolus' beer. Founded in 1471, Het Anker is one of Belgium's oldest breweries. The three copper brew-kettles in the brew-room date from after the Second World War.

In the 1990s the premises were given a makeover. Charles Leclef, the fifth generation of the family, restored the old buildings and modernized the refrigeration, fermentation and largering facilities.

There are several versions of Gouden Carolus. The most famous is undoubtedly the Gouden Carolus Classic. This special beer won -for the 3rd time- the gold medal at the World Beer Awards in 2012. The jury decribed the beer as following: "Full, rich nose of molasses, toffee and pear drops. Powerful yet smooth. (…) Plenty of body with rich fruit flavors and a long warming finish."

While there isn't a law requiring ecommerce stores to have a Return Policy, you may need one if you wish to enforce your terms and parameters of returns and refunds.

For example, in the state of New York, if a retailer does not provide a Return & Refund Policy, the retailer will be required to accept returns and give refunds for all merchandise returned within 30 days of purchase. If you wish to limit this in any way, you will need to create and post a Return Policy with your own custom terms.

Another reason for having a Return Policy even if not required by law is that most consumers prefer to shop at retailers with a clearly-posted Return Policy. This is especially important when shopping online, as more issues are likely when purchasing something without being able to see it in person first.

If you don't have a Return Policy, you may be at the mercy of state laws regulating return and refund timeframes. You may also lose potential customers who are concerned about not being able to return a product if they need or want to.
