You're The Answer, Jakobsland

Jakobsland Brewers was born as a weekend project in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia in Spain, in 2012, when two friends, Fran and Henlo, wanted to further their curiosity about craft beer. They built their own pilot 70-litre brewing system at Fran's father's company, and began brewing their first recipes. His beers quickly became popular with friends and family, and production increased to a couple of sessions a weekend. Henlo then met Jeremiah Fox at a beer tasting event. He happened to be a homebrewer, and he also worked at a small brewery in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joined the weekend project. They soon began brewing up to four sessions a week on the small 70 litre pilot system.

Looking to improve and perfect their recipes, they realized they needed a larger production system, with controlled fermentation temperatures, and a professional packaging line to take their project to the next level. After numerous business plans, schemes and strategies, they decided to become nomadic brewers; this meant renting brewing space from other breweries. In 2016, the Jakobsland Brewers company is registered to start production on a larger scale. Immediately their beers were recognized by winning prizes in important competitions. In 2017, Jakobsland became one of the best newcomer brewers according to bloggers and specialized magazines, and has since positioned itself among the top 10 Spanish independent brewers rated by Untappd. After establishing great ties with numerous breweries where Jakobsland Brewers has elaborated their recipes over the years, today they are resident brewers in Arriaca.
